FAQ / Trouble Shooting Steps For Non Working Boxes.
« Last post by Spencer @StreamSmart on March 06, 2016, 02:52:52 PM »
1. Press home on remote(this is either a little green alien or a house depending on your remote) then scroll right and Go to OTA and see if you have an update available. If you do hit yes then follow the directions and you are all set. If no update is available go to step number two.

2. Do a speed test on your streamsmart, not another device. If you get the network communication error your box isn't connected to the internet. Try resetting your router by unplugging the power cord for ten seconds.
How do I run a speedtest?
From the home screen scroll to "StreamSmart Tools" then speedtest.  When you are prompted to begin test, press the cursor button on your remote then use the arrows to select the button. When you are done simply press the cursor button and arrow again to turn the cursor off.

If you run the speed test and get less then 20mgs click on these links to trouble shoot your router.

If you run the speed test and the results are over 20mgs and your OTA doesn't have any available updates and your still having problems try step three if that doesn't help then follow step four.

3. Factory reset your box. go to below URL and read How do you do a factory reset?

4. Pin Reset go to below URL and read How to Hard Pin Reset my box

If you follow all these steps and still are having problems contact us through our support page on Facebook and be sure to let us know you did all these steps and what the results were.

How do i optimize the performance on my StreamSmart?

1st Step is to do a Speedtest on your box.  This is critical that you run the speedtest on your box and not on your phone or computer as we are testing the signal that the box is receiving.
Need help running a speedtest? Watch our speedtest video

2nd Step if you don't like the results then check out the modem & routers section here in the forum for tips & tricks on improving your router's performance.

If you want more details then do a keyword search for this on our Facebook page to see responses from other users. I would search "emulator" in the group.
FAQ / How do i add Classic Arcade Games on my StreamSmart?
« Last post by Michael Spencer on February 09, 2016, 05:23:20 PM »
Want to have classic Arcade games on your StreamSmart?

This is for VERY ADVANCED users!!!  This is NOT supported by StreamSmart and we do not troubleshoot on this topic, but here are the steps to get you started.  Note: (You will need to research and find the games & emulators on your own as this is not supported not condoned)...

* Props to Henson for the detailed description and "How To Instructions listed below"...

1) Connect your wireless gaming remote (controller that uses a USB dongle is recommended)
2) Download the emulators from the play store
3) Download the ROM's that you legally own or have purchased the rights to. You need to use the ROMS for the gaming system emulator you downloaded then load them on a SD card. (This is the part you will need to research on your own) If you own the game you can download the ROM. If not this may be a violation of the law.
4) Insert the SD card into your StreamSmart.
5) Open the emulator app and configure your controller to the app
6) Choose the folder where you saved your ROM's and choose a game. By choosing a game right away, the app will default to that folder when opening the emulator.
7) Back out of the game.
8 ) Go into your emulator settings and configure your controller buttons mappings to the app
You're Done...

* Note: Anytime you do a factory reset or firmware update, you'll need to reconfigure again
General Info / Re: StreamSmart vs Firesticks vs Roku
« Last post by Spencer @StreamSmart on February 08, 2016, 06:59:04 PM »
I would like to add to this, for all current StreamSmart customers imagine if every time you ran the wizard to update your StreamSmart instead you had to take your Fire Stick into the person to reload it or send it to them in the mail. How crazy would that be??

Also something Fire Stick sellers don't tell their customers is that when it needs to be reloaded they charge you more money to do it!! StreamSmart has zero cost after purchase, we will never charge our customers for updates that by the way we do on a daily basis as anyone advanced in Kodi knows it changes that fast. The only way someone with a Fire Stick could keep us with us is to have the stick reloaded everyday but that's impossible!

So sure you might only pay a few bucks for one but after paying to have it reloaded a few times you are at the cost of a StreamSmart. Bottom line is anyone selling a Fire Stick is a small time one man show trying to make a quick buck, you get what you pay for. Everyone knows that, when you buy StreamSmart you can buy with confidence.

Last but not least nobody has our channel lineup with our premium add-ons that would cost end users over $80 a month for free on StreamSmart!
